Camp Under the Stars 2021
Our camp program is outside in nature in the National Park.
Camp activities include mindfulness & yoga, hiking, waterfall walks, cooking nutritious campfire meals, library, art, STEM, and outside play.
Throughout all our camp programming, campers learn to treat each other with kindness, use empathy, include others, and take care of the natural world.
Summer 2021 programs
One-week overnight camp: ages 5-12
The one-week overnight camp program for ages 5-12 is designed for first-time campers and those who have camped before. Campers live in cabins with cots and electric lights, with flush toilets very close by. Some meals take place in the dining hall and others are prepared over a campfire. More information.
Culinary CIT: one-week overnight camp-volunteer-in-training program: ages 15-17
The Culinary CIT program is a one-week, overnight camp-volunteer-in-training program for ages 15-17. This unique program includes learning to be a camp volunteer as well as culinary education in the kitchen and over the campfire. CITs will learn about child development and positive ways to interact with younger children. In the kitchen, CITs will improve their cooking and baking skills and help to prepare and cook camp meals. There will also be time for camp fun like art, hiking, waterfall walks, yoga, and more!
Dates: Sunday, July 11 to Saturday, July 17, 2021
Camper fee (ages 5-12): $875 per week
CIT fee (ages 15-17): $425 per week
Camper and CIT registration opens on January 29th.
Camp Under the Stars is committed to providing a camp experience to all campers, regardless of their family's ability to pay the camp fee. Apply for partial or full financial assistance.
We will work with campers to make accommodations, including but not limited to, providing nutritious food alternatives for dietary restrictions and food allergies, accommodating campers with service animals, accommodating campers and staff with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, anxiety, ADHD, sensory needs, and speech, hearing or visual impairment.
Campers are dropped off and picked up at camp, located in Prince William Forest National Park.
We look forward to providing additional drop off/pick up locations and transportation
options in future summers.
At Camp Under the Stars, safety has always been our first priority. Due to COVID-19, we are renting a larger camp with more outdoor (and indoor) space. We are decreasing our camper capacity and increasing our adult volunteer to camper ratio. More information about our summer 2021 COVID precautions.
